Description/Job Summary SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION Safety Coordinator Schedule
Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm, overtime as needed including weekends. Must be able to be on call and respond within 30 minutes.
Job SummaryAssist in training and education of employees involved in all aspects of drying, milling, packaging and grain storage operations. Assist in inspections and evaluations of all facilities to uphold a hazard-free working environment. Assist in monitoring work actions of all employees to ensure that training, education, and corrective actions are adequate to prevent unsafe work practices. Assist in maintaining timely and accurate safety records for internal and external (OSHA, Department of Labor) reporting and reference.
BasicQualifications
- Must have at least 3 years of work experience within an industrial/manufacturing setting.
- High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
- Basic computer skills in all MS Office applications.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with all levels of personnel.
- Must be able to obtain CPR/AED certification.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs.
- Must be able to climb up to 200ft when needed. Must possess organizational skills.
- Must be able to travel when needed (primarily day travel by road within a three-hour radius)
- Must be at least 21 years of age with no recorded driving violations within the last 12 months.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must be willing and able to wear the required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Must be willing and able to follow all safety and food safety rules.
- Other duties as requested by supervisor.
- Experience with small group presentations
- Familiarity with OSHA standards
- Basic understanding of industrial mechanics
- Any experience involving safety a plus.
