Position: Federal Work Study (On-Campus - Central Reservations Office Event Assistant Specialists)

ECU Department of Student Involvement & Leadership is currently seeking several Central Reservations Office Event Assistant Specialists. The Event Assistant Specialist position is a part-time role with clerical responsibilities supporting the Student Centers, including Office Assistants, Welcome Center Assistants, Event Assistants, and Central Reservations Office Assistants. Customer service specialists are directly supervised by professional staff within the department.

Responsibilities:
  • Administrator: Complete paperwork, forms, and maintain logs as required. Attend scheduled shifts and adhere to staff manual protocols.
  • Customer Service: Greet students, staff, faculty, and guests. Utilize campus resources to assist and connect individuals to appropriate services. Maintain communication with supervisors and foster a welcoming environment.
  • Clerical Support: File records, maintain logs, answer phones, relay messages, and operate office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines.
  • Event Setup: Read operation reports and set up/break down event spaces, including lifting and arranging tables, chairs, and other items safely.
  • Security: Ensure safety during events, enforce policies, deter theft, and be familiar with emergency procedures.
  • Team Participation: Attend training, support team efforts, and communicate positively with staff and employees.
  • Representation: Serve as a positive role model, represent the department and university positively, and be mindful of social media conduct.
