Job DescriptionECU Department of Campus Living is currently seeking (2) Summer Camp & Conference Student Managers. The student manager position is a part‑time, hourly position during the summer with responsibilities that work with and support students and on‑campus guests at East Carolina University. This position works very closely with the Associate Director of Summer Camps & Conferences.
Summer Camps & Conference Student Manager- Handle scheduling duty schedule throughout the summer
- Support front desk staff scheduling and operations, as well as working shifts at front desks
- Handle scheduling 1‑2 social events for conference assistant staff
- Hold consistent office hours during the summer
- Handle staff scheduling conflicts during the summer
- Assist with the compilation of administrative documents such as rosters, occupancy reports, damage billing spreadsheets, invoices
- Ensure all rooms are prepped and ready for guests' arrival
- Report and follow‑up on maintenance and housekeeping concerns as needed
- Serve as positive University representatives on and off campus as well as online
- Participate in departmental initiatives
- Be visible and available in the community to assist and be a resource to conference guests.
- If required be available to cover shifts for conference assistants that are on‑call.
- Assist with training conference assistant staff
- Prepare keys and program access cards for guests
- Be available to handle reprogramming of any fobs that arise throughout the summer
- Hold consistent office hours during the summer
- Serve as a point of contact on site for camps as they check‑in
- Inform Associate Director of missing keys or access cards
- Perform summer camp and conference check‑in and check‑out duties
- Manage rosters for guests using Iris and Microsoft Teams
- Manage Iris software to track damages, lost keys, and other details important to camp and conferences
- Test keys and fobs at the beginning of each camp/conference
- Ensure key locks are checked before each guest arrives
- Manage mail system for summer camps & conferences
- If required be available to cover shifts for conference assistants that are on‑call.
- Serve as a point of contact on site for camps as they check‑in
- Provide excellent customer service to camp and conference guests at East Carolina University
- Assist with training conference assistant staff
- Perform summer camp and conference check‑in and check‑out duties
- Serve on an on‑call rotation for safety and security of buildings with participants during weeknights and weekends (leadership rotation)
- Understand and enforce University policies and procedures appropriately
- Other Duties as Assigned
Hourly Position - $15 per hour
Hourly Position - $15.00 per hour
