Dental Assistant - Journey - Davidson

This position is located in Thomasville, NC in Davidson County.

The purpose of this position is to provide clinical support to the dentist, dental residents, and dental students in the School of Dental Medicine clinics and Community Service Learning Centers. The dental assistant is responsible for patient preparation, patient flow, and assisting with 4-handed dentistry. This position accesses patient information and charts as directed by dental students, dental residents, and faculty dentist, and monitors patients' blood pressure and sedation as required.

The assistant participates in dental exams and procedures, follows OSHA standards for hand washing, masking, gloving, and disposal of contaminants, and monitors patients as they receive treatment. Additionally, the assistant performs dental x-rays as ordered by the dentist and transports patients as needed.
