Extraordinary Pediatric Anesthesiologist Opportunity! Complex and high acuity pediatric cases! Exceptional team culture and working environment! $100,000 Sign-On Bonus available, potentially more for fellows!

Pediatric Anesthesiologist Partnership Opportunity at ECU Health Medical Center an Maynard’s Children’s in Greenville, NC!

ECAA Anesthesia Specialists is excited to announce a unique opening for a pediatric anesthesiologist. Coverage is provided at Maynard’s Children’s Hospital, ECU Health Center, and ECU Health Surgi Center.

This position is an excellent fit for anesthesiologists that want to be known as a master of anesthesia and want to perform distinctive pediatric cases, but desire retention of their adult care skills. The incumbent will provide pediatric anesthetics all the time, but will cover some adults as well due to the impressive Level 1 size of the ECU Health hospital system.

Fellows may be particularly interested due to the robust case mix. In addition, we are offering a generous stipend for pediatric fellows or residents heading into a pediatric fellowship. This is truly a one-of-a-kind opportunity. We perform complex pediatric cases on par with isolated children’s hospitals.

There is no need to fear private practice! Our physicians manage the anesthesia practice which means our physicians can make changes quickly and effectively without jumping through hoops. All of our team members get their time off, regardless of tenure, and call is equally shared among the team.

A 3-year partnership path package is available for hard working physicians who desire a stake in equity.

About the Pediatric Position and Maynard Children’s Hospital

Maynard’s at ECU Health Medical Center has nearly 200 total beds/bassinets. The hospital has one of the largest NICU in the state with 71 beds and is categorized at the highest level 4. The patient caseload is diverse and includes interesting complex cases as well as routine outpatient. This rising facility is equipped to handle the needs of any child from the tiniest premature infant to injured high-school children.

The pediatric surgical services at Maynard’s and ECU Health are actively expanding their subspecialty lines. A significant increase in volume is anticipated over the next few years.

Anesthetics are provided for over 4,000 pediatric cases per year. Current pediatric cases include routine and complex general surgery, neurosurgery, plastics and craniofacial surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, transplant (renal). Cardiac surgery is limited to bedside PDA. Surgical cases are consistent with these most complex children and include occasional bedside cases. Regional anesthesia is a routine service provided for post op pain management.

In addition to anesthesia for surgical services, we provide pediatric anesthesia for offsite locations like radiology, cardiac cath lab, audiology, pulmonary, GI, heme/onc procedures and radiation treatments.

For those that wish, there are also opportunities to maintain academic endeavors such as teaching, lecturing, and research as an adjunct faculty member at ECU Schools of Medicine or Nursing. This is on a voluntary basis and is not required. ECAA has partnered with ECU's SRNA program and we are a rotation site for 7 anesthesia assistant programs across the country.

Hands on informal teaching and mentoring is a routine part of our day as part of our various academic partnerships.

We have a very collaborative team environment and our pediatric surgeons and anesthetists are excellent teammates. Learn more about Maynard’s Children’s Hospital by clicking here: https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)./
