Maintenance/Reliability EngineerCooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Maintenance/Reliability Engineer. This role offers an excellent career opportunity to join a global industry leader in chemical manufacturing. You will provide technical support across multiple chemical and milling plants in North Carolina, with a focus on reliability, rotating equipment, and preventive maintenance. Responsibilities- Lead rotating equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Manage the vibration program: train technicians, analyze data, provide balance corrections, and support the rotating equipment team
- Oversee the lubrication program: develop vendor goals and track continuous improvement
- Provide engineering support for preventive maintenance and repairs on critical plant equipment, fixed assets, and rotating machinery
- Lead and guide mechanical maintenance resources, processes, and budgets
- Ensure proper execution and documentation of PM and repair activities
- Conduct safety and quality audits of maintenance work
- Interface with OEMs, specialists, and third‑party consultants
- Develop job plans, repair reports, BOMs, and upgrade recommendations
- Analyze failed equipment, determine root causes, and recommend solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required
- 10‑15 years of industrial maintenance/reliability experience in chemical, minerals, refining, pulp & paper, or other PSM‑regulated industries
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with vibration analysis and lubrication programs
- Preferred:
Professional Engineer (PE) certification and project management experience - Strong technical expertise, problem‑solving skills, and ability to lead maintenance initiatives
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
