Job Summary

A Process Specialist will identify and pursue opportunities for making products and processes more robust and reliable through project delivery, process control, systems implementation, and personnel development. Analyze data to recommend changes that promote continuous improvement, prioritize loss reduction work, and implement process controls. Utilize analytical troubleshooting skills to resolve process outages, improving product, machine, and people performance.

Key Responsibilities Project Delivery
  • Execute assigned projects and action items to meet goals related to safety, schedule, cost, and engineering/operations success.
  • Work with the project team to define scope, estimate cost, identify needed resources, and provide a timeline, including installation and operational support from a process perspective.
  • Prepare, execute, analyze results, and report on phase 2 & 3 trial plans and qualification protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Train impacted personnel and ensure changes are documented.
  • Track open items through completion.
Unplanned Troubleshooting
  • Provide technical resource for unplanned consultation, training, and recovery/improvement of manufacturing and systems processes (core forming, adhesive systems, vision systems, web handling, baggers, etc.).
  • Act as point of contact for escalation of process‑related issues.
  • Develop and document process controls.
  • Utilize tools and data to define, measure, and generate solutions that improve each process’s capability to meet Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters and productivity targets.
  • Analyze quality, waste, and downtime data to prioritize improvements.
Optimize Processes
  • Identify and lead improvements to equipment, products, materials, resources, and procedures.
  • Lead efforts with Process Technicians to develop/improve standards and process controls.
  • Lead or participate in cross‑functional teams for continuous and reliability improvement projects and root cause analysis activities.
  • Provide personnel development and structured training for others (e.g., Process Technicians).
Required Qualifications
  • High‑school diploma and minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with mechanical drive systems and in establishing and controlling process settings.
  • Strong background in adhesive systems, air systems, and bonding technologies.
  • Basic understanding of electrical components, analytical troubleshooting, and manufacturing plant support equipment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and in creating work instructions, visual guides, flow charts, checklists, and training materials.
Preferred Qualifications / Professional Experience
  • Technical certification or degree in scientific, engineering, electronics, mechanical, or related field.
  • Maintenance or Process experience with high‑speed converting equipment.
  • Green Belt or higher Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Manufacturing Engineer (SME), Automation Professional (ISA), or Manufacturing Frontline Leader (MSI) certification.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of electro‑mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Basic knowledge of facility support equipment.
  • Proficiency with Cause & Effect diagrams, FMEA, flowchart/process maps, process DOE, etc.
  • Knowledge of Mini Tab, Python, Matlab, Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, Agilent VEE, and basic statistics.
  • Proficiency with project management software and CAD software.
