OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Manager to oversee integrated clinical and distributive pharmacy services within a clinic located in Greenville, NC. The role requires leadership of patient care programs, educational training, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance while ensuring seamless operation of both central and satellite pharmacy areas.
Job Responsibilities Pharmacy Operations- Perform all pharmacist functions and maintain proficiency in central pharmacy and satellite areas.
- Oversee medication automation, technology, and computer systems.
- Manage medication inventories and prepare/deliver patient‑specific medication doses.
- Supervise technicians and interns, prioritize workflow, and ensure accuracy of technician activities.
- Conduct critical medication order scrutiny, drug profile review, and patient monitoring.
- Verify/enter medication orders and communicate proactively with medical staff to resolve issues.
- Deliver patient‑centered care services, medication therapy management, and participate in stewardship and restricted medication programs.
- Facilitate medication safety practices and report adverse events.
- Participate in medical emergency responses.
- Lead pharmacy practice programs, direct patient care services, and monitor practice metrics.
- Collaborate with external physicians, ACOs, and business leaders to enhance patient care services.
- Provide primary coverage of direct patient care programs and deliver accurate medication therapy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and emphasize patient‑centered care.
- Maintain expertise in specialty pharmacy practice and continuity of care.
- Lead and facilitate patient service lines and therapeutic areas.
- Maintain punctuality and reliability in all shifts.
- Ensure continuity of care between shifts and across practice areas.
- Support other pharmacy operations as needed.
- Work effectively with the healthcare team and demonstrate sensitivity in all communications.
- Assist pharmacy managers with integration of services and operations.
- Mentor new staff and assist with staff training.
- Develop and maintain quality training opportunities for pharmacy students and residents.
- Precept pharmacy students (IPPE/APPE) and residents (PGY1/PGY2).
- Demonstrate aptitude for teaching and maintain preceptor competencies.
- Complete preceptor skill assessments and provide evidence‑based education.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance medication processes or patient care programs.
- Support regulatory compliance and accreditation processes.
- Lead initiatives to maintain ASHP accreditation of pharmacy residency programs.
- Use data analysis to track, monitor, and communicate outcomes.
- Design and coordinate medication use evaluations and evidence‑based projects.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or an advanced pharmacy degree.
- Post Graduate Year One (PGY1) and clinical pharmacy experience in Mental Health/Psychiatry or specialty practice (≥1 year).
- Compounding experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, problem‑solving, and customer service skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to change.
- Ability to work independently and supervise personnel.
- Constructive interaction with supervisors, peers, and support staff.
- Data analysis and discrepancy resolution skills.
- Accurate record‑keeping ability.
- Experience teaching, precepting, and facilitating experiential training.
- Initiative to keep abreast of developments in pharmacy services.
- Proficiency in retail pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, computer systems, pharmacy technology, and automation.
- Knowledge of ASHP Accreditation Standards for Pharmacy Residency Programs.
- Leadership qualities essential for effective institutional operation.
- Preferred:
Ability to define operational or program solutions, integrate services with quality improvement, research, and professional development, analytical and data management skills, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Current, valid State of North Carolina Pharmacist license.
- Performance‑based compensation.
- Full‑time employment contract required.
