Position Summary
Manages the repair and maintenance of building components, equipment and systems. Coordinates in‑house projects, staffing, procurement, and signage programs. Provides assistance to the Administrator in the development, implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of policies, procedures and codes. Participates in committees and forums to resolve issues related to Facilities Services (Plant Operations).
Responsibilities- Manages the repair and maintenance of building components for the main hospital building, other campus and related facilities.
- Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs for building components and general equipment/systems, ensuring TJC compliance.
- Monitors program results, updates programs, and maintains documentation for inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Co‑ordinates procurement, contract negotiation, and vendor evaluation for machinery, equipment and services.
- Supplies staff training and development, including performance appraisals and staff evaluation.
- Works closely with Design & Construction Department, contractors, and vendors during new construction and renovations.
- Provides operational updates to the Administrator and maintains monthly reports on accomplishments, concerns, and goals.
- Participates in the Manager On‑Call rotation to provide direction and support during emergency situations.
- Co‑ordinates the in‑house signage program with Marketing and supports the room numbering system.
- Maintains facility flooring by inspecting, recording and tracking floor wear and damage and coordinating repairs.
High School or Equivalent (GED) or higher; five to seven years related experience.
Related Work ExperienceStrong supervisory experience with heavy emphasis on personnel management is required.
