Overview

At Animal Care of Greenville, every team member plays a vital part in delivering exceptional pet care. Our RVTs don’t just “assist,” they bring high level clinical skill, critical thinking, and leadership to the exam room, surgical suite, lab, and hospital floor.

We’re looking for a Full-Time Credentialed Veterinary Technician who wants to thrive in a full-service veterinary hospital, work with a fun, dedicated team, and continue growing professionally.

Why You'll Love Us:
  • Dynamic, supportive culture – We work hard and laugh harder. Team camaraderie, peer mentorship, and mutual respect are core.
  • Wide scope of cases – From routine wellness to advanced surgery and exotic protocols, your skills will be utilized and challenged.
  • True Technician empowerment – We believe in the value of our technicians. You’ll lead procedures, mentor others, and contribute to care plans.
  • Growth oriented environment – Whether you’re interested in specialty training (anesthesia, dentistry, exotics, etc.) or leadership, we’ll support your path.
  • Meaningful rescue partnerships – We’re proud to support local rescue organizations and give pets second chances. You’ll be part of the mission.
You're a Great Fit If...
  • You are a currently credentialed/registered veterinary technician (RVT) in North Carolina (or able/willing to transfer).
  • You bring strong clinical skills, initiative, and confidence – not just “helping” but leading in patient care.
  • You value collaboration and believe every role contributes to great outcomes and great care takes teamwork.
  • You communicate clearly and compassionately – both with pet parents and the internal care team.
  • You love variety, learning new techniques, and aren't afraid of occasional late shifts or
    high-intensity days.
  • You believe the kennel attendant, the assistant, the technician and the doctor all matter in delivering exceptional care (and you’ll back that up).
What You'll Do:
  • Assist the veterinarians in advanced diagnostics: bloodwork, urinalyses, cytology, radiographs, ultrasound, etc.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage anesthesia and patient recovery, including vital sign interpretation and emergency responses.
  • Lead surgical patient prep and recover, maintain surgical tools and protocols, assist in dentistry and other specialty areas.
  • Provide nursing care for inpatients: monitoring, fluid therapy, pain management, patient comfort, and documentation.
  • Take a proactive role in client communication and education: discussing diagnostics, post-op care, medications, home plans.
  • Maintain legally defensible medical records, ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., controlled drugs, OSHA, DEA where applicable).
  • Act as a resource and mentor for assistants and kennel staff – share your knowledge, elevate the team.
  • Participate actively in hospital development: quality‑improvement, protocols, continuing education, and career growth.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) credential in NC (or willing to obtain).
  • Associate degree (or higher) in Veterinary Technology or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in a veterinary hospital environment preferred – especially in diagnostics, anesthesia, surgery, and inpatient care.
  • Strong clinical judgement, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Excellent communication skills – with doctors, team members, and clients.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs, long periods on your feet, and adapting to physical demands of animal care.
  • Eagerness to learn, specialize, and grow (e.g., dentistry, exotics, emergency/critical care, etc.).
Perks+Benefits
  • Competitive pay, based on experience
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance (some plans include free outpatient mental health care)
  • Generous CE allowance + paid CE time
  • Uniform allowance
  • Pet care discounts for your personal pets
  • PTO, floating holidays, parental leave, and military leave
  • A robust Employee Assistance Program (from finances to wellness and everything in between)
  • Access to Encore Vet Group’s library of training, CE, and career development resources
  • A 401(k) with up to 5% company match
