Parks Equipment Operator; Seasonal

Job Summary

Our Recreation and Parks Department is hiring for seasonal Parks Equipment Operators for the Spring and Summer season! This position will perform numerous maintenance and construction tasks related to ball field maintenance and turf management. Operates equipment and performs duties related to turf grass management, preparing ball fields for practices and games, mowing turf, and general landscaping improvement. This position will assist with game day operations for the Coastal Plains Baseball League and other athletic events by preparing the field for play, providing facility supervision, custodial support, and other job‑related duties as assigned.

Seasonal Position:
March – August 2026.

Work Hours:

Coastal Plain Baseball League game day support will typically be 4:00‑10:00 pm, Monday‑Sunday, with some weekend morning shifts; pre‑season training hours will be 11:00 am – 3:30 pm.

• At least 6 months of experience operating lawnmowers and/or tractor mowers;
• Valid driver’s license issued by N.C. or another state;
• Must be at least 18 years old;
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform work requiring good physical and mental condition.
