Role Overview

As an IPU Technician, you will restock medications in automated dispensing machines at inpatient hospice facilities, ensuring continuity of patient care. You will handle medication inventory, documentation, and compliance with safety and privacy regulations.

What You Will Do
  • Restock medications in automated dispensing machines
  • Receive and document medication restock packages upon arrival
  • Verify medication expiration dates and remove expired products following safety protocols
  • Complete required sign-offs for all restocked medications before leaving the site
  • Prepare and ship expired medications back to the pharmacy
  • Select, count, and verify medications using established procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and compliant dispensing machine and report binder
  • Assist with general inventory counts and inventory control processes
  • Partner with pharmacy and hospice teams to resolve restocking or inventory needs
  • Adhere to HIPAA and patient privacy requirements
What We Look For
  • Experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of pharmacy or medical terminology, abbreviations, and symbols
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to use web-based tools and basic software systems
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and customer service
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
  • Experience with automated dispensing machines preferred
  • Hospice or palliative care experience preferred
