Position Overview

Wayne Health Care is seeking a motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join a collaborative and well-supported Emergency Department team. This position offers a balanced mix of autonomy and physician support in a community hospital setting with comprehensive specialty backup.

Emergency Department Details
  • Annual ED Volume: ~19,000 visits
  • Facility: 19-bed Emergency Department
  • Coverage Model:
    • 24-hour physician coverage
    • 10 hours of APP (MLP) coverage daily
  • APP

    Shifts:

    12 hour
  • Electronic Medical Record: Epic

Responsibilities of Practice

The APP will provide comprehensive emergency care, including but not limited to:

  • Evaluation and management of low- to moderate-acuity emergency patients
  • Performing history and physical>
  • Ordering, interpreting, and documenting diagnostic studies
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans
  • Performing common ED procedures within credentialed scope
  • Patient and family education
Qualifications

Physician Assistant (PA):

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • PA‑C certification (NCCPA)
  • Current Ohio Physician Assistant licensure (or eligibility)

Nurse Practitioner (NP):

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • National Nurse Practitioner certification (AANP or ANCC)
  • Current Ohio Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure (or eligibility)
