Position Summary: The Inpatient Registered Nurse provides high-quality, compassionate patient care within our Inpatient Care Center. This role is essential in supporting patients and families through skilled symptom management, emotional support, and clear communication. Additional hours are frequently available for those seeking extra shifts.

Qualifications & Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Ohio.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Medical/Surgical, Oncology, or Community Health nursing.
  • Hospice experience strongly preferred but not required training provided.

Skills & Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Outstanding customer service with a patient-centered approach.
  • Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites as needed, including in inclement weather.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, standing, walking, twisting, and lifting.
  • Ability to assist with patient mobility, including transfers, positioning, and ambulation.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Excellence

Deliver competent nursing care through symptom management, emotional support, timely responses, and patient/family education.

Provide patient/family services according to the established Plan of Care and physician orders.

Consult with physicians/Medical Directors as needed and implement telephone orders when appropriate.

Perform thorough and accurate initial nursing assessments.

Maintain clinical competency and adhere to all agency, accreditation, and regulatory standards.

Coordinate and participate in Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) planning for assigned patients.

Assist in developing, implementing, and revising the IDG Plan of Care.

Educate, supervise, and evaluate care provided by volunteers, hospice aides, and primary caregivers.

Ensure smooth continuity of care by managing patient transfers between inpatient and home-care settings.

Administrative & Support Duties

Accurately explain hospice services, insurance benefits, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, Palliative Care interventions, and ABNs.

Obtain, document, and enter physician/Medical Director orders appropriately.

Order necessary Durable Medical Equipment (DME).

Complete all required documentation timely and accurately.

Work evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as needed to support patient and agency needs.
