Registered Nurse

• Base Pay $30.00 - $39.58 / Hour
• Employee Type Non-Exempt - FT

Supervises and coordinates nursing care and services provided to residents on an assigned unit.

• Ensure high-quality resident care on assigned floor by:
• Administering medications and treatments as ordered and assessing effectiveness.
• Making regular rounds to assess conditions and needs; observing staff performance in care activities.
• Assigning, directing, and supervising Nursing Assistants in resident care following the plan of care.
• Directing and supervising Nursing Assistants in delivery and documentation of Restorative Nursing Programs.
• Delivering and documenting Restorative Nursing Programs within Licensed Nurse scope.
• Arranging for adequate supplies and properly functioning equipment.
• Maintaining policies, procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control, and other regulatory requirements.
• Participating in regularly scheduled Care Conferences and documenting timely and accurately in clinical records.
• Identifying resident problems and needs, setting goals, interventions, and updating care plans.
• Completing or assisting with unfinished activities from previous shifts.
• Accompanying physicians on rounds.
• Notifying physicians, family, and Care Team members of changes in resident condition.
• Investigating and resolving resident and family complaints; reporting abuse or neglect issues immediately to Director of Nursing or Administrator.
• Calling physicians and handling referrals to consultants.
• Encouraging rehab/restorative programs to improve resident functioning.
• Coaching, teaching, counseling, and disciplining Nursing Assistants as needed.
• Resolving problems and reporting unresolved issues to appropriate personnel.
• Assisting with orientation of new nursing staff.
• Evaluating Nursing Assistants’ performance regularly.
• Enhance professional growth by:
• Attending mandatory facility in-services.
• Seeking education relevant to long-term care.

Directly supervise 2–7 employees on the nursing unit. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems in line with organizational policies and laws.

Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Knowledge of algebra and geometry. Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
