Description

Employees of Darke County Recovery Services, DBA Recovery and Wellness Centers of Midwest Ohio are expected to value the highest ethical standards, quality clinical care, and good customer service. We also value quality communication skills in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary and often multi-agency service environment.

The MRSS Team provides outreach to youth & families under 21 years old to help them resolve a person‑defined crisis and link with ongoing support services as needed. This is a Monday–Friday position with regular scheduled hours of Monday–Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm but the person must be willing to work two nights during the week up to 8:00 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Dedicated crisis counselor for youth and families in crisis
  • Travel to provide crisis assessment/intervention, safety planning, and follow‑up care
  • Provide brief intervention along with ongoing assessment and linkage to services and needs up to 6 weeks
  • Work together with a team of counselors, social workers, case managers, peer support specialists, and the Director to provide prevention, sustainability, and reduce trauma in youth and their family members
  • Be a member of the newest and most valued service line for youth as we increase awareness and bring hope to the Crisis Continuum
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) licensure
  • Have/ be willing to obtain NPI and Ohio Medicaid numbers (we will assist)
  • Have and maintain an excellent driving record
  • 2 years’ experience working in the behavioral healthcare field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with youth and families in community behavioral health or crisis intervention setting
  • Experience in motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and trauma‑informed care
