SeniorTax Associate – Position Summary
Helm Tax and Advisory Group, P.A. is growing, and our clients need your expertise! The Senior Tax Associate will handle complex tax engagements with a concentrated focus on flow-through taxation (S corporations, partnerships, and individual returns). This position offers the opportunity to deepen technical expertise and contribute to high-quality client service within a collaborative professional environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare tax returns involving complex issues with an emphasis on flow-through entities (S corporations, partnerships, and related individual returns).
- Review less complex individual and business tax returns.
- Prepare tax projections and develop effective tax planning strategies.
- Respond to federal and state tax notices promptly and professionally.
- Research increasingly complex tax issues using professional internet research services.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously to meet internal and external deadlines.
- Develop business by expanding existing client relationships, maintaining personal networks, and participating in civic, business, and professional organizations.
- Identify opportunities to provide additional services and value to clients.
- Support the training and technical development of tax associates.
- Use research services to increase technical knowledge and enhance the quality of client deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
- 4+ years of public accounting and/or corporate experience in a tax environment preferred.
- Strong research and technical writing skills required.
- CPA license or active CPA candidacy required.
- Thorough knowledge of fundamental accounting principles required.
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
- Proficient verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively required.
- Professional demeanor with strong ethics, sound judgment, and a commitment to confidentiality and independence required.
