Responsibilities and qualifications reflect the needs of the role and are focused on administrative and case management support for program staff, with a requirement for bilingual English/Spanish abilities.
Responsibilities- The Case Aide for La Jornada provides administrative and document support to program staff and maintains a flexible, organized and efficient work schedule. May require extended hours and weekend work.
- Work alongside the program case management team to support ORR’s seven-day Case Management policy requirements.
- Maintain records data per ORR’s/NYAP’s/NAR’s records management policies.
- Complete records requests from ORR and Verification of Release (VOR) changes; support case management with VOR needs and updates.
- Ensure documentation is timely uploaded to ORR’s system of record, to wit: UC Portal and NYAP’s Evolv system.
- Maintain daily ongoing support of case management efforts at unification and reunification of children with potential sponsors; assist with searches, background checks, CA/N checks, and other case management activities.
- Assist with maintenance of case files and completion of intake and discharge packages.
- Support coordination of legal service providers (LSP) “Know Your Rights” presentations and legal screenings.
- Provide ongoing case aide support to foster parent licensing, clinical and medical teams when needed.
- Assist with coordination of travel for children and staff; support intake case files and required intake documentation.
- Prioritize work and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines; demonstrated ability to work with a diverse client base.
- Maintain confidentiality and work independently with a high level of professionalism.
- Operate technology and learn new software applications as needed.
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
- High School Diploma; a 4-year degree is preferred.
- Understanding of ORR Policies and Procedures.
- Proficient with desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, scanners, and software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish); fluency in Spanish is required.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily liability coverage.
- 21 years of age, valid state driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and a good driving record.
