Job Description

We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.

Duties

We are seeking an Asphalt Paving Foreman for our South Carolina operations to oversee asphalt paving crews on projects such as commercial parking lots, city streets, county and state roadways, and interstate highways. The successful candidate will focus on safety, recruiting, training, and retaining crew members committed to safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities include:

• Enforcing safety policies and ensuring quality work daily.
• Performing asphalt paving, stone set-up, and milling operations per specifications.
• Reading plans and specifications (application rates, grades, slope, drainage).
• Completing jobs under budget and on time through clear expectations and feedback.
• Managing materials, logistics, maintenance, and outside services.
• Coordinating with other foremen, plants, crews, subs, and vendors.
• Ensuring daily maintenance, housekeeping, and pre-trip inspections.
• Working nights and weekends as required.
• Submitting electronic timecards and shift reports accurately.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of paving foreman experience with references.
• Knowledge of local customers, materials, and specifications preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and work well with teams and inspectors.
• Proficient with GPS grade and slope control.
• Experience in asphalt paving required.
• Computer skills required.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
