Position SpecificsInstruction will include Pre‑Algebra, Algebra I, and Geometry in the first year, with opportunities to teach additional math subjects up to Calculus as the school expands. The curriculum utilizes Singapore Math Dimensions and The Art of Problem Solving.
Duties And Responsibilities- Create a safe classroom environment for all students.
- Develop thoughtful, well‑planned lessons that adhere to the curriculum.
- Maintain an orderly classroom.
- Provide timely and meaningful evaluation/correction of student work.
- Engage students using the Socratic method.
- Lead students with intelligence, charisma, humor, moral integrity, and example.
- Perform additional assigned campus duties.
- Follow school policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of students.
- Assist students needing individual help and make‑up work.
- Communicate regularly with parents.
- Attend special school events and staff meetings.
- Enforce dress and behavior codes, promoting orderly conduct.
- Maintain gradebook updates, monitor parent communications, and prepare grade reports.
- Participate in reviews with the Headmaster/Designate.
- Pursue teaching excellence and develop knowledge of Western Civilization.
- Maintain professional appearance, punctual attendance, and adhere to health and safety procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- For co‑curricular subjects, a bachelor’s degree in the taught subject or at least 36 hours of higher‑education credit.
- Background check as required by state law and the South Carolina Department of Education.
