Middle School Teacher

Position Summary

Provide student instruction from a biblical worldview for middle school courses, advise students and parents concerning academic matters, and perform service duties as needed within the school.

  • Teach assigned courses.
  • Perform extra-curricular functions (e.g., coaching, student organization sponsors, etc.).
  • Disciple students through relationship building.
  • Model effective oral and written communication.
• Key Results Area #2:
  • Participate in activities related to the school (e.g., grade-level assemblies, school spirit activities).
  • Maintain student academic grades and attendance.
  • Attend chapel and BJA faculty meetings.
  • Communicate the religious beliefs of BJA to students and student affiliates.
  • Answer questions concerning BJA’s statement of faith and biblical position to parents, students, or those inquiring about BJA.
  • Maintain professional appearance and presentation.

  • Communicate expectations consistently with parents.
  • Communicate grades on a timely basis through the Student Management System.
  • Resolve parental concerns in a timely and gracious manner.
  • Engage parents in matters of student discipleship.

  • Attend school-wide professional development days.
  • Attend conferences in the academic field.
  • Participate in Professional Learning Communities.
  • Collaborate with the subject area department.

• Developing expert knowledge of the teaching field.
• Able to incorporate digital technology in instruction.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills in the classroom and interpersonally with students.
• Developing organizational abilities in teaching and classroom management.
• Degree in area of teaching plus appropriate experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable in a digital environment and able to learn the school management system.

Bachelor's degree.
