Overview
The National Youth Advocate Program seeks a Youth Worker/Transportation to support families and youth through advocacy, goal-setting, and relationship-building. This role works closely with youth, families, and program staff to advance targeted outcomes.

- Perform duties consistent with NYAP Mission and values
- Develop trusting relationships with youth and assist them in achieving goals
- Provide leadership and support within the program
- Maintain a warm, caring and safe atmosphere for youth
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Report problems to the Out of School Coordinator
- Prepare program activities and room preparations
- Complete required training, documentation, and attendance in a timely manner
- Maintain a positive attitude toward all youth, co‑workers, families and others involved with the program
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage minors
- Patience, empathy and emotional support for minors
- Flexibility, adaptability in dynamic environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, insurance, good driving record
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily injury liability
- 21 years of age
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity
- Enthusiastic self‑starter
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
- Works well independently and as a team member
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; occasional bending, pulling, carrying
- Extended periods of sitting, standing and driving vehicle
