Overview

The National Youth Advocate Program seeks a Youth Worker/Transportation to support families and youth through advocacy, goal-setting, and relationship-building. This role works closely with youth, families, and program staff to advance targeted outcomes.

• Perform duties consistent with NYAP Mission and values
• Develop trusting relationships with youth and assist them in achieving goals
• Provide leadership and support within the program
• Maintain a warm, caring and safe atmosphere for youth
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Report problems to the Out of School Coordinator
• Prepare program activities and room preparations
• Complete required training, documentation, and attendance in a timely manner
• Maintain a positive attitude toward all youth, co‑workers, families and others involved with the program

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage minors
• Patience, empathy and emotional support for minors
• Flexibility, adaptability in dynamic environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
• Bilingual English/Spanish fluency
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, insurance, good driving record
• Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily injury liability
• 21 years of age
