Mid-Level Water/Wastewater Project Manager

Base pay range: $/yr - $/yr

Location:

Charlotte, North Carolina (preferred), with options to work onsite in Charlotte, Greensboro, Greenville, or Cary approximately two days per week. Candidates in North Carolina or Columbia/upstate South Carolina region will also be considered.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll help lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater facilities for conventional and design-build projects, ranging from $1M to over $250M in construction value, and shape cutting-edge solutions to help our Water Solutions Center.

Here’s What You’ll Do
  • Manage and support the planning and design of water and wastewater facilities, addressing challenges such as emerging contaminants and nutrient removal.
  • Oversee diverse projects in water treatment, wastewater treatment, conveyance, and modeling.
  • Serve as a primary client interface, leading workshops, facilitating discussions, and maintaining strong relationships to ensure expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Drive project coordination across disciplines and uphold quality standards throughout all design phases.
  • Mentor engineers and designers, fostering technical growth and collaborative team culture.
  • Contribute to technical strategies and design planning for project pursuits, leveraging client insights to shape innovative solutions.
Here’s what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 7+ years of experience in detailed design of water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and conveyance systems.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines.
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience in construction and startup of water/wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Design experience with advanced wastewater processes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in distributed team environments.
