ECS is hiring an experienced CAD Drafter / CAD Operator to support our growing geotechnical and transportation design teams across multiple offices in North Carolina. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-impact infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, retaining walls, deep foundations, and slope stabilization systems
.
Ideal candidates will be proficient with Micro Station
, Open Roads
, and Bentley CAD software
, and have direct experience supporting design-build transportation projects.
- Create, modify, and maintain geotechnical design drawings using Micro Station, Open Roads, and related Bentley software
- Draft and document key geotechnical features: piling systems, drilling layouts, shallow/deep foundations, embankments, retaining walls, and slope protection elements
- Prepare and format technical documentation and digital figures for NCDOT and transportation agency submissions
- Collaborate closely with geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, and transportation project teams to convert design concepts into construction-ready plans
- Ensure all drawings adhere to project standards and CAD quality guidelines
- 5+ years of experience in a CAD drafting role supporting civil or geotechnical engineering projects
- Experience working on NCDOT or other DOT-related projects
- Proficient in Micro Station and/or Open Roads
- Strong understanding of geotechnical design principles and CAD modeling of subsurface features
- Familiarity with transportation design‑build workflows and deliverables
- Expert Level proficiency in Bentley CAD software and digital project file organization
- Previous involvement in large‑scale transportation infrastructure or roadway projects
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary design teams
