Water​/Wastewater Operations Specialist - East Region

Overview

Water/Wastewater Operations Specialist - East Region role at Black & Veatch. This employee-owned company focuses on sustainable infrastructure and invites you to join a team empowered to grow and contribute to humanity’s challenges.

• Provide startup, commissioning and troubleshooting services for:
• conventional wastewater treatment, advanced wastewater treatment, and biosolids
• groundwater systems that chlorinate and/or chloraminate with hydrogen sulfide removal/softening systems, conventional surface water treatment, and advanced disinfection/filtration systems
• Prepare standard operating procedures, energy control procedures, job safety analysis, and operation and maintenance manuals for new and existing facilities
• Perform onsite training of operations staff
• Evaluate staffing, operating costs, and system redundancy for reliable operations
• Travel up to 75%

• Preferred Qualifications
• At least 10 years' experience in wastewater operations or commissioning of wastewater plants
• Water treatment operations and/or commissioning of water treatment plants
• Plant startup and commissioning experience
• Technical writing skills and basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PDF, Microsoft Visio)
• Water/Wastewater Operator License is preferred

• Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering technology or sciences preferred or any other degree, specialized training, or experience that makes the individual uniquely qualified
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search) where applicable
• Valid driver’s license required

• Hybrid work model available for professionals located near a Black & Veatch office; typically three days in the office and two days remote. Preference for candidates within commutable distance to office locations
