Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (NC nursing jobs)

• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or ICU nursing experience

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – AHA

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification – AHA

• Ability to pass Relias clinical competency exams (2 attempts allowed)

• Must reside outside an 80-mile radius of the facility

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted before assignment confirmation
PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with acute neurological and medical conditions

• Care for patients with acute stroke, post-neurosurgical, seizure, multiple sclerosis, and Guillain-Barre syndrome

• Utilize advanced clinical skills: NIHSS assessment, lumbar puncture assistance, arterial and central line management, tracheotomy care, lumbar drains, IV starts, peripheral and arterial blood draws

• Administer and monitor intravenous drips (cardiac, insulin, heparin) and perform cardiac monitoring

• Collaborate in a pod-based team environment, assigning patients based on acuity

• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and uphold patient safety standards
