Position Overview: Baristas are responsible for crafting quality drinks, delivering excellent service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming store environment. This role requires energy, attention to detail, and a passion for both people and coffee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and learn their names and favorite orders.
- Provide fast, friendly, and accurate service with a customer-first attitude.
- Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience.
- Handle guest concerns or feedback with professionalism and care.
- Prepare all beverages and food items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, and specials.
- Operate and maintain coffee machines and equipment with skill and care.
- Check orders for accuracy before serving.
- Complete setup, side work, and closing duties as assigned.
- Stock, organize, and requisition necessary supplies.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures.
- Perform regular cleaning of floors, equipment, counters, and guest areas.
- Support coworkers with a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team and leadership.
- Assist in training new baristas as needed.
- Ensure the café environment is clean, safe, and inviting at all times.
Qualifications:
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of experience in retail or food & beverage setting preferred.
- Serve Safe or food safety certification is a plus.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, multitask, and follow directions.
- Basic math and computer skills required for POS and transactions.
- Able to lift 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
