Purpose

As a Technical Sales Consultant, you will grow the USA Advanced Materials business across a wide range of sectors. This will be achieved through both the acquisition of new customers and the development of existing clients, leveraging Lucideon’s extensive range of existing material solutions and introducing new services to the market. This will involve significant business travel within the USA.

The best Salespeople build long‑term relationships with customers that enhance our overall reputation. When you meet potential clients you will get them excited about what Lucideon can do for them. Your engaging personality and open questioning style will enable you to understand their needs and potential solutions they might not even see.

You will liaise extensively with a team of world‑class experts, both technical and commercial, in the USA and the UK to scope high‑impact, high‑value solutions to match or exceed client requirements. This role requires someone who is collaborative, a team player and has a desire to work in a results‑oriented environment.

Key Person Requirements
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related technical discipline.
  • It is essential to have relevant scientific experience in the Advanced Materials industries, with use of services equivalent to Lucideon’s proposition.
  • Full USA Driving license is essential.
  • This role is field based, but the successful candidate is expected to be regularly present at our Raleigh (NC) or our Greenville (SC) facilities, so they should either live, or be willing to relocate, to a reasonable commutable driving distance from either of those facilities.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, at all levels of seniority.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the proven ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to engage easily and credibly with both scientists and engineers at all levels in science/engineering‑based businesses.
  • Inquisitive, quick‑thinking, and skilled at networking, enabling entry and value generation with prospects who have not dealt with Lucideon before.
  • Take an interest in technical and commercial market developments with scientific/technical credibility.
