Utility Locator – USIC

Join us as a Utility Locator to help keep the nation’s infrastructure safe. This full‑time, on‑site role works independently in the field using USIC’s company vehicle and cutting‑edge ticket/claims management systems.

$20.00 Hourly

• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
• Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately mark their location, complete required documentation, and photograph each locate.
• Work day‑time, full‑time hours with a 48‑hour turnaround on many locates; be available for overtime, weekend and on‑call shifts, including nights and weekends, as needed.

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions; prior outdoor experience a plus
• Proficient computer skills
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed
• Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety‑sensitive position)
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
• Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
