Description

We're looking for a steady presence.

Pendleton Place is hiring a Residential Shift Manager for our Monday-Friday, 2:00-10:00 PM shift
.

Our residential campus includes a foster care group home and transitional living program serving teens and young adults
. We're looking for someone who can lead from the floor present with youth and staff, engaged in daily residential life, and ready to step in when support, direction, or de-escalation is needed.

This role is for someone who can stay grounded when things get complicated, make sound decisions, guide staff in the moment, and respond to young people with trauma-informed, compassionate, strength-based care while maintaining clear expectations and healthy boundaries.

We're looking for someone who brings:
  • Residential experience working with teens or young adults
  • A calm, steady presence
  • Strong judgment and confidence making decisions
  • Effective de-escalation and crisis-response skills
  • Compassion balanced with consistency and accountability
  • Clear, respectful communication and healthy professional boundaries
  • The ability to coach and guide staff in real time
  • A willingness to stay actively involved, this is a lead-from-the-floor role, not a desk job,
  • A practical, solution-focused approach

Bachelor's degree in a social services-related field required; master's degree preferred.

You don't have to have all the answers. You do need to be someone young people and staff can look to when the room gets difficult.

Requirements Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, youth development, healthcare, or related field (or equivalent experience) required
  • Experience working with adolescents, foster care, behavioral health, residential programs, or youth serving organizations
  • Valid South Carolina driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Ability to pass required background checks and screenings
  • Willingness to complete required training and certifications

Join us in creating a place where young people can land, regroup, and build their future.

Summary Why Pendleton Place?

At Pendleton Place, you'll be part of a team committed to helping young people build healthy futures. Every day brings opportunities to teach, mentor, advocate, and support youth as they take meaningful steps toward independence.

If you're looking for a role where relationships matter and your work has a visible impact, we'd love to hear from you.
