Under the direction of the Sports Director and Sports Assistant and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA of Greenville, the Sports Counselor will assist in providing leadership and direction in the development and success of our Youth Sports programs in the community.

Responsibilities- Assist in the development and implementation of specific program curriculum within the Sports Department mainly during summer season in Sports Camps.
- Assist in giving guidance and direction to sports participants and volunteers.
- Assist in maintaining the equipment, inventory and program areas.
- Develop relationships for the advancement and promotion of the YMCA Sports Program.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed.
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
- Attend/complete required abuse risk management training.
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high‑risk activities and supervising consumers.
- Follow mandated reporting requirements.
- Adhere to job‑specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Knowledge of recreation, physical education or some related field or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of baseball, basketball, football, track & field, and soccer rules.
- Possess skills in relationship building such as excellent communication skills.
- Minimum age 16.
