Transportation Solutions Supervisor - DHL Supply Chain

- Direct day‑to‑day and weekly activities within the assigned area, providing leadership, motivation, training, and development of the workforce.
- Supervise coordinators and planners to deliver on objectives with customer shipments, including daily load planning, receipt of load tenders, and appointment coordination.
- Oversee communication to internal and external customers and drive consistency.
- Ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for associates.
- Deliver associate orientation, training, performance reviews, and development.
- Ensure associates have proper access to tools and those tools are inspected and maintained.
- Oversee yard and shuttle operations.
- Lead focus on productivity improvements, improving processes and efficiency.
- Participate in workshop action plans, projects and best‑practice sharing.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities that improve financial performance and service levels.
- Plan, manage, and adjust daily workload and staffing to minimize unplanned overtime.
- Ensure shift/workload planning and volume forecasting routines are accomplished.
- Plan exception route planning, validate load plans, and ensure carrier selections are honored.
- Coordinate carrier pickup times and provide shipment plans to the distribution center.
- Communicate exceptions with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring consistency and timely resolution.
- Enforce company policies across safety, accounting, operational, regulatory, and administrative areas.
- Maximize quality and productivity by understanding job standards, evaluating performance, and identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Effectively communicate SOPs and key information during pre‑shift meetings and hand‑offs.
- Maintain a professional environment with external customers and vendors.
- Provide consistent communication for all customer interactions.
- Execute daily customer/vendor contract requirements and identify accessorial activities.
- Participate in collecting performance measurements consistent with customer, vendor, and site requirements.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Operations background (required).
- 2+ years in logistics or transportation industry (required).
- 1–3 years in a lead/supervisor/management role (preferred).
