Certified Special Education Teacher & Core/Generalist OpeningLocation: Greenville, Texas
Employment Dates: ASAP – May 22, 2026
Work Schedule: Normal School hours (7:40 AM–3:20 PM)
Age Group: Elementary kiddos
Caseload: 8 students (Structured Teach & Inclusion)
Modality: In-Person
Pay: $42/hr (local)
Amergis has an immediate job opportunity for a Special Education Teacher who holds both a Special Education and Core/Generalist Texas certifications. Education Requirements & Certifications- Valid Texas Special Education Certification (EC–6 or All-Level EC–12), including TExES Special Education (EC–12) exam
- Valid Texas Core/Generalist Certification (EC–6), including TExES Core Subjects EC–6 and Pedagogy & Professional Responsibilities (PPR EC–12) exams
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or closely related field
- Completion of a TEA-approved educator preparation program
- Student teaching or supervised field experience in special education
- Minimum of 150 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours required
- Fingerprinting through district required
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs using data-driven instruction and UDL
- Differentiate instruction in core curriculum across classrooms
- Collaborate with ARD/IEP teams, including parents and specialists
- Maintain accurate progress reporting and compliance documentation
- Embed social-emotional learning, positive behavioral interventions (PBIS), and assistive technology
- Operate within the legal and ethical framework outlined in IDEA, Section?504, and Texas Education Code
- Demonstrate mastery of structured teaching techniques, inclusion practices, co-teaching, and differentiated instruction
- Skilled in IEP writing, data analysis, progress monitoring, and classroom management
- A strong advocate for students with special needs—collaborative, empathetic, and solution-focused
- Committed to continuing education and staying current with legal mandates, evidence-based methods, and assistive technologies
