Job DescriptionDesign and develop electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military and commercial aircraft and ground stations. The role involves creating system wiring diagrams using the Capital Harness System tool, designing circuit breaker panels, control panels, and other electrical assemblies using CAD tools, and coordinating design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost.
The engineer will also lead and mentor a small team of 2 to 5 entry‑level design engineers for the duration of an assigned project, support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft, and contribute to a wide variety of aircraft systems on various platforms.
- Create and review system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, and control panels using CAD tools such as Capital Harness and NX.
- Research and prepare engineering drawings and coordinate design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost.
- Lead a small team of electrical design engineers to implement electronic subsystems by breaking down requirements and work packages, providing drawing status, and budget estimates to platform leads.
- Train and mentor junior engineers.

Harris Technical Process Specifications and related design practices and methodologies.
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or related technical degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience with a Master’s degree or 4+ years of applicable experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Good computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance requiring U.S. Citizenship.
- Interpret SOW, requirements, and System Definition.
- Must be able to travel to and from flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments; some positions will require the ability to board/exit aircraft.
- Willingness to travel or relocate, if necessary.
- Previous experience in the defense aerospace industry.
- Knowledge of CAD and PLM software, including NX and Teamcenter.
- Knowledge of Siemens Capital software.
- Understanding of basic aircraft systems.
- Systems integration experience.
- Leadership experience.
- Experience with Bombardier Global aircraft.
- Active Secret Security Clearance or higher.
