Harris is seeking a Systems Engineer who will be responsible for working in the COMINT SYSTEMS team. This team is a dynamic, diverse team who supports geolocation and signals capabilities across multiple platforms and programs, primarily airborne. This team supports all phases of program systems engineering, from concept and proposal through flight test and delivery. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for working with the Customer, other Systems Engineers, and Software engineers to design, implement, and test new functionality.
Typical duties will involve writing requirements, supporting software development, and integration testing of new or modified products across multiple programs.
- Manage Requirements across multiple software release cycles in simultaneous development.
- Derive Requirements for new capability added to legacy programs.
- Plan and conduct integration testing of new functionality while ensuring legacy functionality continues to work as intended.
- Full capability documentation, including CONOP, Use Cases, Sequence Diagrams, Requirements Specifications, Test Plans, Test Cards, User Manuals, and other technical documentation as required.
- Interface with other Systems Engineers, Agile Development Engineering, Flight Line Test, Product Development and Project Engineering to design, implement, and test new baseline functionality.
- Coordinate with the customer to gather user needs and ensure their satisfaction with system performance.
- Work with management to develop and adhere to schedules and budgets required to accomplish assigned work.
- Prepare and present technical results for internal and external program meetings.
- Develop, track and present technical metrics.
- Manage work packages using collaborative tools through all phases of the project.
- Understanding of System Engineering fundamentals and processes.
- Ability to thrive in an environment where tasking from multiple simultaneous efforts is required.
- Geolocation experience (Direction Finding or Collaborative Geo, e.g. NCCT, TNG), RF Hardware, or Signals Analysis experience.
- RF design understanding.
- Familiarity with bash scripting, and Linux operating systems including comfort with Command Line Linux.
- Will support Test flights.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to meet timelines and learn on the job while working in a team environment.
- Able to travel up to 10%.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Occasional off-shift work (evenings, weekends) may be required to support aircraft flight test schedules.
- Bachelor’s Degree with nine (9) years of SIGINT, COMINT Systems, and/or RF experience.
- Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of SIGINT, COMINT Systems, and/or RF experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of SIGINT, COMINT Systems, and/or RF experience.
- Active SECRET clearance required at the time of hire with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI.
- Must be able to successfully pass an FAA Class 3 Flight Physical and altitude chamber test.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
