Harris is seeking an experienced Information System Security professional with particular technical experience in network appliances such as routers, switches, and firewalls that would work across multiple product lines within L3

Harris’ Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) portfolio. You will be part of a diversely skilled engineering team in the design, implementation, and testing of complex interoperable systems. This position will work closely with applicable Information System Owner(s), information systems engineers, program management, and product development teams to explain and interpret cybersecurity processes, practices, and procedures such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

Overall duties include but are not limited to:

  • Designing and Implementing Security Solutions:
    Develop and maintain network security systems, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Developing Security Policies:
    Create and enforce network security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Monitoring Network Activity:
    Continuously monitor network traffic for unusual activity and potential security breaches.
  • Conducting Security Audits:
    Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability management, and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Responding to Incidents:
    Investigate and respond to security incidents, providing timely resolutions and reporting findings.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SCI.
  • Requires on-site presence at the Greenville, TX location, with the potential for occasional telecommuting. Business travel equates to approximate 10% of man-year.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification.
  • Fluent understanding of networking design including proper isolation, segmentation, and bandwidth management.
Preferred Additional

Skills:
  • Experience with networking topologies such as in-line encryption, intrusion prevention/detection systems, and virtual networks.
  • Track record of collaboration with other functional organizations to ensure security measures are integrated into day-to-day processes.
  • Learning mindset to stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions.
  • Aptitude and interest in mentorship and guidance to junior security engineers and IT staff.
  • Associate of CISSP, CISSP, CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, Linux+, Cloud+
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Familiarity with common engineering tools such as JIRA, Confluence, DOORS.
  • Familiar with security engineering principles, design patterns, and processes.
  • Experience with matrixed development teams (hardware, software, systems engineers) and embedded systems engineering.
