Bloom Upstate is seeking dependable, creative, and motivated Youth Program Mentors to support our expanding programming for girls ages 8–18 Bottle; as we grow into new elementary schools and housing communities, we are looking for self‑starters who are passionate about youth development, take initiative, and thrive in dynamic, community‑based environments.

This role offers a meaningful opportunity to mentor youth while building skills in leadership, program planning, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor to girls ages 8–18, fostering trust, confidence, and connection.
  • Assist Squad Leaders with the planning and delivery of youth workshops, outings, and enrichment events.
  • Support daily program logistics while maintaining a fun, inclusive, and safe environment.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with youth, familieswe, teammates, and community partners.
  • Regularly update Bloom Upstate’s social media platforms and create flyers using Canva.
  • Bring initiative and creative energy to program delivery and student engagement.
  • Use critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to manage real‑time changes or challenges.
  • Be adaptable and flexible in fast‑paced, community‑based settings.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the success of Bloom Upstate’s programs.
Requirements
  • Open availability Monday–Thursday from 3:00 PM – 7:30 PM, with occasional weekend availability required.
  • Ability to commit to up to 20 hours per week.
  • Reliable transportation to travel between school sites and housing communities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and restful communication.
  • Dependable, punctual, and consistent in attendance and communication.
  • Experience working directly with youth in educational, mentoring, or community settings.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Canva and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.).
  • Interest in youth development, public service, or social impact work.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a supportive, mission‑driven environment.
