This Setting Out Engineer role offers a 6-month freelance contract and is perfect for someone looking to develop their career with a contractor that can offer future opportunities and progression onto additional projects.

About the Role of Setting Out Engineer

As Setting Out Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a large-scale residential scheme valued at £80m. Working closely with the Site Management and Project Teams, you will be responsible for the accurate setting out of works, maintaining quality assurance standards, and ensuring construction activities are delivered in line with project specifications.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer looking to gain experience on a flagship residential development while building long-term relationships with a contractor known for promoting from within.

Responsibilities for Setting Out Engineer

Carrying out all setting out duties across the residential development

* Establishing and checking line and level controls throughout the project

* Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications

* Managing and maintaining QA documentation and site records

* Producing and recording as-built information where required

* Conducting site inspections and supporting quality control procedures

* Assisting the management team with technical issues and site coordination

* Working closely with subcontractors to ensure accurate installation of works

Requirements for Setting Out Engineer

Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer on residential or major construction projects

* Strong understanding of line and level control procedures

* Experience managing QA processes and quality documentation

* Proficient with Total Station, GPS, and surveying equipment

* CSCS Card required

* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

* Excellent communication and organisational abilities

* Driven individual looking to progress within a growing contractor
