Social and Web Content Officer

Are you a creative content producer with a passion for social media, video and digital storytelling, and keen to make an impact in higher education?

The Faculty of Law, Arts and Social Sciences (FLAS) is looking for a Social and Web Content Officer to join our Marketing and Recruitment Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across three schools, supporting the delivery of our marketing and recruitment plan through engaging content to boost awareness, applications and conversions.

Bringing relevant recent experience and creativity skills, you will be responsible for producing content for both paid and organic social media
, with a particular focus on short‑form video assets for platforms such as Instagram and Tik Tok. You will plan, film, edit and deliver content optimised for prospective students, working closely with colleagues to ensure content aligns with campaign objectives and resonates with key audiences.

Alongside paid social activity, you will manage the Faculty’s organic social media channels
, primarily Instagram and Linked In. This will include content planning, copywriting, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, community interactions, and reviewing analytics to help inform future content.

The role also includes responsibility for the website and written content
, using our Content Management System (CMS) to update and maintain web pages, write and edit articles that support student recruitment and engagement at undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) level. You will work with academic and professional services colleagues to translate complex information into clear, engaging and student‑friendly content, ensuring accuracy, accessibility and alignment with brand and tone of voice guidelines.

You will have recent experience working in a content creation or digital marketing environment, ideally within higher education or a similar sector. Bringing fresh ideas and creativity, you will help our digital platforms tailoring content to meet the needs of our audiences. Your exceptional people skills will enable you to deliver outstanding customer service, work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, and be a supportive colleague and team player.

This role demands high levels of organisation and flexibility to coordinate multiple work streams across a number of stakeholders, the ability to anticipate issues and suggest solutions, and strong self‑management skills for prioritising your work.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team, working in a varied, hands‑on role where you can see the impact of your work across social, web and digital channels.
