Behaviour Mentor – Secondary School (SE2)
Full-Time | Long-Term | Via Milk Education
Milk Education is working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary academy in SE2 to recruit a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, raising engagement levels, and helping pupils develop the skills needed to succeed both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for students with behavioural needs
Support pupils in managing emotions and developing self-regulation strategies
Build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and families
Work collaboratively with the pastoral team and SENCO to implement behaviour plans
Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Monitor and record student progress and behaviour interventions
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with young people in a school, alternative provision, youth work, or similar setting
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
Resilient, patient, and empathetic personality
Ability to build rapport and act as a positive role model
Team Teach training (desirable but not essential)
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
