A well‑established and inclusive secondary school in Greenwich is seeking to appoint a passionate and committed Teacher of English to join its successful English department. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner to inspire students and contribute to raising standards across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 available for a suitable candidate).
The Role:- Plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach across KS3 and KS4 (A‑Level teaching available if experienced).
- Monitor and assess student progress, implementing strategies to raise attainment.
- Create a positive and purposeful classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
- Holds QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
- Has experience teaching English in UK secondary schools.
- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge across Literature and Language.
- Has excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Is committed to supporting students of all abilities, including those with SEN or EAL needs.
- A supportive and forward‑thinking leadership team.
- A collaborative and well‑resourced English department.
- Ongoing CPD and opportunities for career progression.
- A diverse and vibrant school community in the Lambeth area with excellent transport links.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
