POSITION: SENCOABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced SENCO for an inclusive two-form entry Primary School in Abbey Wood, Greenwich. The school is well-established and highly regarded within the community for its nurturing ethos, strong pastoral support, and commitment to inclusive education.     Leading and coordinating SEND provision across the school, managing EHCPs, liaising with staff, parents, and external agencies, monitoring pupil progress, and supporting inclusive teaching and learning practices

  • Minimum Rate of Pay:
    From GBP
    215 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Hours:

    8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working within a Primary School setting, including experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation
  • Experience managing EHCP processes, annual reviews, and coordinating support for pupils with a range of needs, including SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and EAL
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, senior leaders, parents/carers, and external professionals
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (within the last year)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service
  • Provide two recent professional references covering the last two years

The successful candidate will be required to register and pass all safeguarding and vetting checks before starting.
