Hours:
09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday (total of 40 hours per week)
The Project Worker delivers an intensive housing management service, supporting homeless clients in temporary placements to achieve independence and move into sustainable housing. The role combines client-led keywork, property management, partnership collaboration and coordinate the day-to-day smooth running of each house they are responsible for.
Key Responsibilities- Provide housing management services, including tenancy sign-ups, inductions, rent collection, occupancy checks, and addressing antisocial behaviour.
- Evictions are a last resort and CLHT works within the Homeless Link guidance on preventing evictions and abandonment.
- Maintain safe, clean, and legally compliant accommodation in line with CLHT standards.
- Deliver regular keywork sessions, support planning, risk assessments, and facilitate client engagement.
- Liaise with external partners and escape concerns to managers when required.
- Keep accurate, GDPR-compliant records of all client interactions and housing activities.
- Promote team collaboration, support volunteers, and participate in supervision and team meetings.
- Adhere to Health & Safety, Lone Working, Safeguarding, and equality policies.
- Flexibly undertake other duties as required to support service delivery.
- Ensure the accommodation meets all legal and statutory health and fire safety requirements.
Knowledge:
- Welfare benefits, homelessness causes, and Adult Safeguarding principles.
- Familiarity with partner agencies (e.g., Probation, Local Authorities, Refugee Council).
- Commitment to equality and diversity principles.
Skills & Abilities:
- Build rapport with clients and manage challenging behaviour.
- Work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal/written communication, IT literacy, and record-keeping skills.
- Empathetic, approachable, adaptable, and confident in team settings.
Experience:
- Working with single homeless clients with support needs or equivalent experience.
- Experience in multi-agency collaboration and prioritising workload in a fast-paced environment.
- De-escalation and conflict resolution experience.
- Minimum 5 GCSEs (A*-C) including Maths and English or equivalent.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Valid driving license desirable.
- DBS check.
- Commitment to CLHT's values and mission.
- Strong empathy with homeless people, demonstrating a non-judgmental approach.
