Job Overview – Tax Manager (SALT):

Compensation: $120,000 – $175,000/year + bonus

Schedule:

Monday to Friday (Hybrid)Our client is seeking a Tax Manager (SALT) in Greenwich, CT (Hybrid) to oversee multistate tax compliance and advisory services. This role includes managing complex SALT issues, supervising staff, and partnering with Tax leadership to ensure exceptional client service. Ideal candidates bring strong leadership, deep SALT expertise, and proficiency in tax software and research tools.Responsibilities as the Tax Manager:

• Client Management: Build and maintain client relationships while advising on state and local tax matters.
• SALT Compliance & Advisory: Oversee sales and use tax filings, manage audits, and address technical SALT issues.
• Tax Research & Planning: Conduct research and draft memoranda to support multi-jurisdictional tax strategies.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor staff, ensuring quality work and ongoing development.
• Engagement Oversight: Manage multiple SALT projects, meeting deadlines, budgets, and client expectations.

Qualifications for the Tax Manager:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (MST preferred).
• Certification: CPA, EA, JD, or other tax-related certification is required.
• Experience:Minimum of 7 years in public accounting with progressive tax responsibilities and at least 6 years of dedicated SALT experience.
• Technical Skills:Proficient in tax software such as CCH Axcess, GoSystem, or similar platforms, with strong Excel skills and experience using tax research tools.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical and communication skills with a proven ability to lead teams, manage complex engagements, and deliver results in fast-paced client environments.
