Assistant Controller

Location: Greenwich, CT (In-office, Mon-Fri; Summer Fridays remote)

Reports to: VP of Finance

Our client is a rapidly growing firm seeking a highly capable Assistant Controller to support the financial operations across multiple entities. This role will work directly with the VP of Finance and play a critical role in day-to-day accounting, reporting, and analysis to support strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation within alternative investments or commodities and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.

• Oversee daily accounting functions: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with US GAAP
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Analyze financial data to support business decisions and improve performance
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
• Support audit and tax processes, acting as liaison with external partners
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as the team grows
• Contribute to process improvements, internal controls, and systems enhancements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of accounting experience (public/private mix ideal)
• Prior supervisory experience preferred
• Strong technical proficiency (Excel, financial systems; Quick Books, Net Suite, etc.)
• Experience with consolidations and intercompany transactions
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive mindset
