Internship - AI Associate: Equity Long​/Short

Verition Fund Management LLC (“Verition”) is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Fixed Income & Macro, Event & Multi-Asset RV, Equity L/S & Capital Markets, and Quantitative Trading.

We are seeking a Summer Intern to join our Fundamental Long/Short Equity business as an AI Equity Associate during our 10-week Summer Internship Program. You will work directly with the Equity COO on the firm's AI priorities, helping portfolio management teams put AI to work across equity research, portfolio construction and risk management.

The role is a fit for someone with real experience in equity research or investing who is also a strong, hands‑on user of AI tools: someone who understands how an analyst or PM works well enough to see where AI changes the workflow, and is resourceful enough to make it happen. During your summer, you will spend time ramping on internal AI tools, contribute to central AI enablement projects, and learn the platform.

You will then be embedded into one or two portfolio management teams working on defined projects that use AI to drive value in equity research, portfolio construction or risk management.

• Build and refine AI workflows, including prompts, skills, data connections and lightweight automations.
• Develop and promote AI best practices across the Equity teams through solutions, documentation, examples and training material.
• Gather feedback from PMs and analysts and turn it into clear requirements and improvements for the central teams.
• Communicate progress and results clearly to PMs and senior stakeholders.

• At least 1-2 years of full-time work experience in finance, preferably in equity research, investment banking, private equity or a closely related field.
• Strong interest in finance and equity research, particularly equity markets.
• Strong, hands‑on ability with leading AI assistants and agentic tools (for example Claude and OpenAI), including MCP servers and data connections.
• Working understanding of the equity research process, valuation methodologies, risk analysis and fundamental research.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work with PMs and analysts.
• Resourceful and self‑directed: comfortable with ambiguity, persistent when things do not work the first time, and focused on getting to a working result.

• Experience with agentic coding tools (for example Claude Code or OpenAI Codex).
• Financial modeling or equity research skills.
• Experience working with financial data, including vendor data such as Bloomberg, Fact Set, broker research and alternative data sets.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $140,000 – $160,000, which will be prorated based on internship start and end date.
