• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (2 Fridays & 2 Thursdays)

• Orientation: 36 hours

• Flu Vaccine:
Required (no exemptions)
Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (1.5 years considered with Level I or travel nursing experience)

• Active Registered Nurse license (CT RN license required; allow business days for processing)

• Required

Certifications:

ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)

• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience

• Proficient in triage of obstetrical patients

• Skilled in IUPC placement and calibration

• Central line (CVC/PICC) maintenance experience

• Medication administration:
Anticoagulants, Antihypertensives, Insulin drips, Magnesium Sulfate therapy

• Ability to assist with high-risk deliveries, circulate and recover C-sections, and perform sterile vaginal exams

• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols

• One professional reference required

• Local candidates (within 75 miles) not accepted
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver expert nursing care to laboring and antepartum patients, including high-risk cases

• Triage and assess obstetrical patients in a fast-paced clinical setting

• Perform and calibrate intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC)

• Maintain and monitor central lines (CVC/PICC)

• Administer critical medications and therapies as per physician orders

• Assist with and circulate for high-risk deliveries and C-sections

• Recover post-C-section patients and conduct sterile vaginal exams

• Implement isolation precautions and utilize PPE appropriately

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams

• Accurately document patient care in the EMR system
