The Role: World Quant is seeking an exceptional individual to lead the maturation phase of two essential software systems currently in firm wide use. These systems are an important part of the research and production trading pipelines. Your mission will be to relentlessly improve their performance, scalability, reliability and survivability while continuing to develop features. The successful candidate will manage a strong team of 6-8 junior to mid career developers with a focus on technical mentorship to nurture the extensive talent that exists within the team.

This role will focus on providing architectural, SDLC and project management guidance and leadership- however relationship building with key end user constituencies is essential to success. Key technologies for the products include:

• Python (Java also an option for new development)
• Big Query
• Kafka
• Distributed systems
• AI / LLMs
• Other storage technologies, perhaps to include graph databases

• Computer Science degree (advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred- particularly with storage technologies or distributed systems)
• Significant prior mentorship experience (prior management experience preferred) Experience working with senior managers
• Extensive experience technically leading or as key contributor in the development of complex software systems (leading financial services firm experience preferred- particularly involved in high performance systems)

The Base Pay Range For This Position Is $150,000 – $250,000 USD.

World Quant is a total compensation organization where you will be eligible for a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and benefits.

We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on job function and level, benchmarked against similar stage organizations. When finalizing an offer, we will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
