Senior Software Engineer - Transaction Surveillance

This is Hybrid role (3 days in office /2 days remote)

The Compliance Surveillance team builds the systems that detect market manipulation and financial crime across millions of client accounts. Our platforms process more than 1 billion order events a day, and their correctness supports regulatory compliance and market fairness.

We are looking for a senior software engineer who specializes in testing and quality. You will design, build, and own the test frameworks and quality infrastructure for our surveillance systems. This is a software engineering role, not a test-writing role. You will write production-quality code, make system design decisions, and own the architecture of how we test, measure, and monitor quality.

You will work directly with developers and data scientists, with a direct line to engineering leadership.

• Own the architecture of our test frameworks covering backend, frontend, and machine-learning pipelines
• Treat test infrastructure as a product: architecture, code review, maintainability standards
• Define data quality for pipelines processing 1B+ events daily
• Architect integration, performance, and contract testing for distributed, event-driven systems
• Drive cross-team root-cause triage, diagnose systemic issues, and identify architectural fixes
• Raise engineering quality standards across development and data science

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related quantitative field
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong production-quality Python
• Solid software engineering fundamentals: data structures, code review, and system design
• Experience designing and building a test framework, or a significant part of one, and maintaining it over time
• Deep pytest experience: fixtures, plugins, parametrization, and scaling large suites
• Git and CI/CD experience (e.g., Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI)
• Strong written and verbal communication, with close attention to detail

• Experience testing data-intensive or distributed systems (pipelines, streaming, databases, APIs), including data quality and lineage tools (Manta, Ataccama, Great Expectations)
• Monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, ELK)

• Competitive salary, annual performance-based bonus, and stock grant awards
• 401(k) retirement plan with competitive company match
• Excellent health and wellness benefits, including medical, dental, and vision benefits. 100% employer-paid medical premiums, with generous employer contributions to dental & vision plans as well.
• Wellness screening and assessments, health coaches, and counseling services through an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
• Generous paid parental leave (up to 16 weeks paid parental leave for eligible employees)
• Company-paid basic life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D), and short- and long-term disability coverage
• Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care, and Commuter FSAs)
• Quarterly fitness stipend to offset costs associated with traditional gym and fitness memberships or fees
• Education reimbursement and professional development opportunities
• Legal services, telehealth access, and voluntary insurance options
• Backup child and adult care support through
• Daily lunch allowance and fully stocked kitchen with healthy breakfast and snack options
