Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant supports the Accounting team in the day-to-day processing and recording of non-operated revenue and joint interest billing (JIB) activity across Vitesse Energy's non-operated working interest portfolio. This role serves as a foundational accounting position with primary responsibilities in revenue receipt and coding, JIB invoice review and entry, and accounts payable check run facilitation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and eager to build deep familiarity with non-operated E&P accounting workflows.

• Review, code, and post operator-provided revenue detail, verifying revenue statements, cash receipts, pricing, deductions, and other supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare cash receipt journal entries.
• Escalate anomalous payments, missing remittances, or ownership mismatches to senior accounting staff for resolution.

• Receive, review, and code Joint Interest Billing invoices from operators.
• Validate billing working interest against master title records and flag variances for review by senior staff or the Land team.
• Enter approved JIB charges into the accounting system accurately and on schedule to support monthly close.
• Maintain organized invoice files and support the matching of Energy Link records to operator statements.
• Prepare and facilitate scheduled check runs.
• Coordinate with senior accountants and management to confirm payment authorization and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned by Accounting and Finance leadership including JIB and G&A Accounting.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 0–2 years of accounting experience; oil and gas or non-operated E&P exposure a plus.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable and revenue accounting concepts.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to organize and reconcile information from multiple sources.
• Ability to research complex transactions, exercise sound judgment, and follow open items through resolution.
• Effective communicator with the ability to coordinate across Accounting, Land, and Finance teams.

This role is designed to provide a structured entry point into non-operated E&P accounting. As the Staff Accountant builds proficiency in revenue and JIB workflows, responsibilities will expand to include more complex operator billing reconciliations, revenue accrual support, variance resolution, and participation in monthly close reporting.

Annual Salary Range: $68,000 - $88,000
